What if I told you that in business, there was a way to increase customer trust, repeat business, and a way to attract referrals and leads all day long.

This may be a strong statement, especially coming from a roofing company, but almost nobody wants to buy a roof.  There, we said it. The reason I mention that, is because many of the customers who initially call us are distraught, upset, or in a state of shock over their current circumstances.

Although metal roofing has been around a long time, its overall beauty, functionality, and durability are only now being truly recognized. But there are more factors than just durability and aesthetics in the decision to choose metal roofing. We’ll discuss that in a moment, though.

At Red Dog’s Roofing, we’re constantly faced with choices every day. Construction in general is never always cut and dry. Everything from our employees, to if we work in various weather conditions are choices we make constantly.  Our customers are making financial, trust, and product choices.

When we forge ahead, sometimes we can get stuck or feel like we’re no longer making progress. The cha-cha-cha of life and business often has us taking two steps forward, and one step back. In the periods where we take a step back, we can often feel as though all progress has been lost.

All of us have the propensity to be stubborn on occasion. I mean, it is a necessary survival tool. It can also be a detriment as well.  The joy of being coachable is at the heart of a growth mindset.

Have you ever dealt with someone you just knew was keeping some of the important answers from you? Someone you may not have trusted completely?  There are several keys to any successful relationship. Communication, empathy, and common goals come to mind.

There can be a fine line in people’s minds between confidence and arrogance. The distinction can often be blurred by our perception, but the differences are quite clear. Arrogance is a self-centered attitude that we’re better than someone else.

Are leaders born or created? Many would think some people are born leaders. They wouldn’t be necessarily wrong in that assumption, as some people have what seems to be the god given talent and drive to excel at leading others.

When you think of a roofer, what comes to mind? Be honest. You may not have had an empathetic, caring individual in mind. That’s the image that’s been created over the years of many folks in the construction field. Gruff, blunt, and rough around the edges.
